BLACK WRITERS GUILD OF AMERICA

The purpose of this organization is for writers, authors, publishers, poets, and screenwriters to network with one another. There will be two separate meetings a month. One meeting will be for writers and authors. The second meeting will be for screenwriters.

Upcoming writers and current authors will be discussing everything from writing your first draft to publishing your first book. Fiction and non-fiction writing, publishing, marketing and distribution of published works will be the some of the topics of our monthly discussions. Learn from others on how to self-publish and market your book to the masses. Learn ways to getting your book in major bookstores. Learn the ABC?s of self-publishing your book. Guest speakers of literary works will be invited to present at meetings.

Upcoming screenwriters and current screenwriters will be discussing the business of Hollywood for Black screenwriters. Learn how to turn you screenplay into an independent or major film production. Guest speakers will be invited to discuss everything from the concepts of screenwriting to copyrighting and protecting your screenplay idea.

There will be a kick off meeting March 4th, 2007 at TBA.
